In the non-metropolitan area, 150 infections have been added, and the number of new corona 19 confirmed cases has reached the 500 level for two consecutive days.

From next month, vaccinations will be given to the general public as well, starting with the elderly among 65 years of age or older.

On the second day, the number of new corona19 confirmed cases was close to 500.

In terms of domestic occurrence, 324 in Seoul alone, including 138 in Seoul, 160 in Gyeonggi, and 26 in Incheon.

In particular, there were 6 new infections at Dobong-gu children’s facilities, where group infections are in progress, 5 at the Seongdong-gu church, and 3 at the Dongdaemun-gu hospital.

In particular, the number of infected non-metropolitan areas increased by 150, raising concerns with 61 new cases in Gyeongnam and 18 in Gangwon.

General national vaccinations starting next month are given priority to the elderly among 65 years of age or older.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters plans to explain the vaccination plan, including the specific scope and timing, at the beginning of next week.

The cumulative number of vaccinations was estimated at 583,000 people, which is 74% of the first vaccinated people and 1.2% of the total population.

95.7% of them were vaccinated by AstraZeneca, and 4.3% were vaccinated by Pfizer.

The target number of vaccinations for the first half of the year is 12 million, and the government plans to significantly increase the number of vaccinations by reviewing the amount of new vaccines introduced.

The government has signed a contract for 6 million Janssen vaccines that have been approved for use by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and is expected to be brought into Korea between next month and June.

The Janssen vaccine has an 85% preventive effect with a single administration and can be stored in a refrigerator, making it easy to transport and distribute, so the speed of vaccination is expected to be accelerated when introduced into Korea.
