[사회]Clear limits in’computer investigation’… identification of borrowed-name transactions is the key

The government found seven new LH employees who were suspected of speculation through the first thorough investigation, but it also revealed clear limitations.

I couldn’t even take a look at the car name transaction involving family or acquaintances, but now the ball has been handed over to the National Investigation Headquarters.

A joint government investigation group organized two days after LH employees were suspicious of speculation in Gwangmyeong and Siheung.

Over a week, we completed the first thorough investigation of 14,000 employees of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and LH.

In addition to the existing 13, 7 additional people were found by comparing the land transaction details in the employee’s name and the certified copy of the register.

The results came out quickly, but the limitations are clear.

Since only employees were the subject of the investigation, it was impossible from the beginning to detect cases of under-name transactions under the name of family members, relatives, or acquaintances.

There is no way to check whether or not the development information learned in the business was used by just the land transaction details.

The target of the second survey is the person in charge of the relevant business of the local government and all employees of local public companies.

The investigation into the spouses and immediate existence of these, the Department of Land, and LH employees was decided by the Special Investigation Division.

It takes time and resistance is expected from each family member to obtain a consent for investigation, so if a suspicion is found, we will mobilize the right of investigation.

Although all-round investigations and investigations are being conducted at the level of the government, it is unclear whether the results will meet the expectations of the public as the targets of the investigation are so vast and it is not easy to trace borrowed names.
