[사회]Chickens crushed by a poke lane…”Chicken to be slaughtered anyway?”

With the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI), poultry on farms near the virus outbreak farms are being killed.

In a video released by Kara, a recent animal rights action, through Facebook, etc., chickens were crushed and dying by a poke lane. The chickens that had come out of the chicken coop and flapped their wings were pressed by the fork lane and soon became silent.

About 28 million chickens and ducks have been killed nationwide since the outbreak of this AI in October last year. In the case of AI-related prophylactic killing, the government is asking the animals to choose a method that is less painful to animals, such as injection, electricity, drugs, and gas.

However, it is pointed out that this is not well observed in the field.

“The state has stepped up and is committing terrible animal cruelty,” said Kara, who raised the question of the killing method. “There is only madness that must be killed in the killings that take place,” he criticized.

On the 15th, the central avian influenza accident control headquarters of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries adjusted the target of AI-related killing from’all livestock within 3km radius of AI-occurring farm’ to’same livestock breed within 1km radius’.

However, animal rights groups and experts insist that vaccination should be given instead of killing. Kara also stressed, “It is necessary to stop the animal massacre and hold responsibility for the wrong prevention, and start vaccination even now, to stop the virus outbreak,” he said.

A farm in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, which has rejected the order of preventive killing, said, “AI is a livestock epidemic that occurs every year and requires quarantine measures. He also appealed, “I want to be protected by a policy that cares for the difficulties of the farmers.”

The farm, which had raised 37,000 chickens using eco-friendly farming methods, received an administrative order to kill the chickens after an AI outbreak in a nearby farm. However, the farm side rejected the administrative order saying that AI has not occurred for 37 years because of adherence to eco-friendly farming methods, but it was not accepted, and the chickens here were also killed.
