Since the outbreak of group infection at Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, at least 27 people have been confirmed so far.

The quarantine authorities are conducting a thorough examination for hospital personnel, patients, and guardians.

How is the hospital situation right now?

As you can see behind me, a screening laboratory was set up and full inspection was done.

Today’s test was closed a while ago.

So far, 27 people have been diagnosed with Corona 19 in connection with this hospital.

10 patients, 1 doctor, 1 nurse, 8 caregivers and 7 family members were confirmed.

The first confirmed person was released from this hospital on the 27th, three days ago.

It was a family member of a patient admitted to the neurosurgery ward on the 15th floor of the hospital.

It was investigated that suspected symptoms of Corona 19 appeared on the 26th, one day before the confirmation.

The city of Seoul quarantined the 15th floor of the hospital where the confirmed person came from.

The confirmed person was transferred to a dedicated hospital, and epidemiological investigations are underway on the path of the confirmed patient, contact person, and infection route.

However, other hospital facilities such as emergency rooms are operating normally.

A full test is also being conducted for hospital staff, patients, and guardians.

The quarantine authorities said they had tested 450 people by yesterday, and that further tests are taking place.

However, as the number of hospital staff is about 2,000 and the number of beds is about 800, the size of the confirmed cases may increase further depending on the results of the total examination.

Earlier, in August of last year, an employee of the artificial kidney center at this hospital was tested positive and closed the center, and an additional employee was confirmed.

Group infections are sporadic in other regions as well.

The number of group infections that appeared in welfare facilities for homeless people at Seoul Station Plaza also increased by seven, so far 40 homeless people and one employee have been confirmed.

In addition, 7 more were confirmed at workplaces in Gangnam-gu, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases increased to 51.

Infection has also spread in nursing facilities such as Nowon-gu and Namyangju, and the quarantine authorities are conducting preemptive inspections on related workers and users.
