The hot water pipe burst in an apartment complex in Seoul amid the’Arctic Cold Wave’ that struck every day, and the heat supply for 1,000 households was stopped for nine hours.

The number of freeze reports received nationwide by this morning reached 2,400.

Yes, this morning, the hot water pipe in the apartment complex in Deungchon-dong, Seoul, was ruptured and the heating was cut off, and residents had to fall into the cold.

A little while ago, around 2:30 pm, all restoration work was completed, and now heat supply is working normally.

The accident happened around 5:40 am.

The demand for hot water surged due to the strong cold that continued day after day, and the pipe was overloaded and the pipe was damaged.

In this accident, hot water flowed back to the ground, and the heating of all nine apartment buildings and 1,000 households was cut off.

The management office and maintenance company have been working on recovery for nine hours, which is now normal.

At Kookmin University in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, a part of the building was flooded and the ceiling collapsed due to the freezing of the heating system.

The accident occurred at around 6:40 pm yesterday.

Two heating devices on the window side of the reading room on the 3rd floor of a 6-story general welfare center building were frozen.

In this accident, the reading room was completely flooded, part of the ceiling on the second floor collapsed, and parts of the classroom and hallways were also submerged.

Temporary restoration work was carried out as soon as possible by the staff of the Kookmin University Student Association and the cleaning service companies.

A total of 2,437 cases were received nationwide, including 2,319 cases of water metering and 118 cases of water pipes.

There were 647 cases until yesterday evening, which nearly quadrupled overnight.

There were 15 people with cold diseases such as hypothermia and frostbite, and 37 people were rescued by the fire department.

Damage to agricultural and marine products is also continuing.

In Buan, Jeollabuk-do, 46ha of facility potatoes were damaged, and 87,000 mullet died in Gochang.

Amid the strong cold, 78,000 households in Incheon and Seoul suffered a temporary blackout yesterday.

Part of the aircraft and passenger ships were also controlled, and the feet were tied.
