YTN reported on the news that investors who made small investments in real estate through the mobile financial service’Toss’ are going to a class action lawsuit.

It was revealed that Toss advertised extensively and the affiliated investment company sold the products of the companies accused of pre-sale fraud.

I am interested in whether it will lead to the investigation of the toss following the investigation of the investment company.

In 2017, Toss launched a real estate micro-investment service in partnership with five P2P investment companies.

People came to the advantage of being able to easily invest with the toss account registered in the app.

As the popularity of small-investment products grew, other fintech companies began to form partnerships with P2P companies.

The cumulative domestic loan amount through P2P has increased nearly 18 times in 4 years.

Toss admitted that he grew up by leading the relevant market.

But soon after, problems began to emerge in investment products.

In 2019, an officetel product in Gimhae advertised on Toss was overdue in less than a year.

Investors sued the P2P company that sold it, and the investigation revealed that the construction contractor who received the investment loan had sold it in false sales.

Similar cases followed, with a townhouse investment product in Jeju Island identified as an illegal building.

The P2P company claimed that it did not know there was a problem with the product, but the police are investigating whether they sold it even though they knew it was insolvent.

Toss, which was affiliated with a company that was being investigated, also had an arrow of criticism, so Toss decided to end the contract with the accused company from next month.

If the suspicion of the investment company is confirmed, the investigation is expected to expand to the toss that was affiliated with.
