It is presumed to be part of the hull of the’Goryongho’, which has been reported to be flooded off the coast of Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The Coast Guard is currently searching around fishing boats to rescue survivors.

Yesterday’s report of flooding was 6:50 pm.

The report point is 42km east of Gampo-eup, Gyeongju-si.

The fishing boat of the accident is 9.77 ton, and it is a red crab fishing boat loaded in Pohang long-term.

There were 6 people on board, including 2 Korean sailors, 3 Vietnamese, and 1 Chinese Korean.

It is said that one of them reported to an acquaintance during the flood.

The Pohang Coast Guard is urgently dispatched to drop flares in the area of ​​the accident and cooperate with the navy to search the site.

Ten ships and seven aircraft were deployed, and two commercial merchant ships are also supporting the search.

A storm warning has been issued in the area of ​​the accident, and a wave height of 2.5~3.5m is currently being raised, making it difficult to search.

When the news of the flooding of fishing boats spread, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Moon Sung-hyuk urgently instructed us to do our best to search and rescue people by mobilizing all available resources.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries has put in rescue equipment and manpower, such as fishing guidance ships, at the accident site, and requested search support for nearby private ships and fishing boats.
