[사회]970 New Confirmations…Investigation of’mutant virus’ deaths from UK

With 970 new corona19 confirmed cases, the government will decide whether to raise social distancing this afternoon this afternoon.

A man in his 80s, who returned home from the UK, where the’mutant’ virus occurred, died yesterday, and quarantine authorities are investigating the association with the mutant virus.

The number of new patients has fallen to three digits. Can you tell us the trend of corona19 confirmed cases?

Yes, as of 0 o’clock today, there are 970 new cases.

It is a decrease from 1,241 people yesterday and 1,132 yesterday, which was the highest in history even among special quarantine measures during the year-end and New Year holidays.

When looking at the route of infection, domestic outbreaks were 946 and foreign inflows were 24.

When looking at the current status of domestic outbreaks by region, the spread of the metropolitan area is seldom showing signs of decline.

Seoul has 359, Gyeonggi 237, and Incheon 60 with 656 new patients.

In the non-metropolitan area, new patients came from 17 provinces nationwide, including 55 in Chungnam, 44 in Gyeongnam, 40 in Busan, 32 in Gyeongbuk, and 24 in Chungbuk.

Of the 24 confirmed foreign inflows, 10 were confirmed during the quarantine stage.

The additional death toll is 15 and the cumulative death toll is 808.

The number of patients with severe gastric disorders decreased by 6 to 293.

The quarantine authorities are investigating whether or not a quarantine authority is “mutated” when a man who entered Korea from the UK, where the corona 19’mutant’ virus, which has a much stronger spreading power than the existing virus, was found died and was confirmed after death?

That’s right. Yesterday, a man in his 80s died at Ilsan Hospital in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.

This patient was self-quarantined after entering the UK on the 13th, but yesterday suffered a cardiac arrest and was transferred to the hospital emergency room, but died in 40 minutes and was diagnosed with corona19 after death.

The quarantine authorities are investigating whether a’mutant’ virus has been confirmed after entering the country from the UK where a’mutant’ virus with strong transmission power was found, and the results are expected to come out in the first week of next month.

From the 23rd to the 31st, the government temporarily suspended flights departing from the UK to block the influx of the mutant virus found in the UK and banned entry from the UK.

Among these, about 30% of patients whose infection route is unknown, worsening the quarantine index.

The number of cases of unknown infection rose to 27.1% on the 22nd, 27.4% on the 23rd, 27.8% on the 24th, 27.2% on the 25th, and 28.6% on the 25th.

About 3 out of 10 confirmed cases do not know when and where they were infected, which means that’hidden infections’ are widespread in local communities.

That’s right. Currently, the 2.5th stage of the metropolitan area and the second stage of the non-metropolitan area will end tomorrow, so we decide whether to extend or upgrade the distance.

The third phase is actually a strong measure equivalent to the blockade, and enormous social and economic damage is expected, so the government has been cautious.

However, as the number of confirmed cases is increasing rapidly and the rate of unknown infection route remains at about 30%, the pressure to upgrade is increasing.

The government once again called for compliance with special measures to strengthen quarantine during the year-end and New Year holidays, such as the ban on gatherings of 5 or more people nationwide.
