The Ministry of Justice recently announced the results of a full-scale examination for employees and detainees in the southern prison.

As of 8 o’clock today, there were no additional confirmed cases.

About 30 employees who have not yet been tested will be tested separately.

Yesterday, nine prisoners in the southern prison were confirmed.

All nine of these were prisoners working in the kitchens of the southern prison.

One prisoner showed symptoms of fever for the first time yesterday afternoon and was tested positive for rapid antigen testing.

Subsequently, an inspection was conducted on 35 inmates in the kitchen.

As a result of checking and examining about a hundred employees and prisoners who had contact with them, eight more were confirmed.

When the confirmed case came out, the Ministry of Justice established an on-site countermeasure group and began to spread the infection.

A total of 950 prisoners and 350 employees were tested.

The confirmed prisoners have not yet been transferred to the hospital and are kept in single rooms.

In preparation for further infection, 42 detainees who were tested negative were moved to Yeongwol Prison and secured a quarantine space.

The Ministry of Justice is planning to conduct a thorough examination again for employees and prisoners of the southern prison.
