The number of new patients dropped from 1,000 to 800 yesterday. Can you tell us the details of the confirmed cases?

As of today 0 o’clock, there are 824 new cases in total.

The previous day was 1,029, which was three digits, but in one day, it fell to 800.

As it was a holiday yesterday for New Year’s Day, it seems that the number of people who have undergone sample tests has decreased.

Looking at the route of infection, domestic outbreaks are 788 and foreign inflows are 36.

There are still many infected people in the metropolitan area.

Seoul 246, Gyeonggi 222, and Incheon 70, with 538 new patients.

In the non-metropolitan area, new patients were confirmed in all 17 provinces nationwide, including 35 in Gyeongnam, 34 in Chungbuk, 31 in Gangwon, 29 in Daegu, and 26 in Busan.

Of the 36 confirmed overseas inflows, 14 were confirmed during the quarantine stage.

The additional death toll is 25 and the cumulative death toll is 942.

The number of patients with severe gastric disorders also increased by 7 to 361.

In particular, as 4 confirmed cases of mutant virus originating in the UK were added, the cumulative confirmation increased to 9 cases.

In addition, a patient infected with the South African mutant virus was also confirmed for the first time in Korea.

Accordingly, it was confirmed that 10 cases were introduced, including 9 cases of mutant virus in the UK and 1 case of mutant virus in South Africa.

The government is considering extending the current level of distancing rather than raising the social distancing step 3?

The current social distancing measures and special quarantine measures for the year-end and New Year will end tomorrow.

Accordingly, the government plans to announce a new measure to be applied from tomorrow at 11 am after a short while after a major script meeting in the morning.

If the distance step is further strengthened, only three steps will remain in the metropolitan area.

This is the last card to result in a permanent suspension or restriction for more than 2 million establishments and is unlikely to be accepted.

Accordingly, there is a high possibility of extending the current distancing phase.

Prior to last month, from the 8th of last month, the 2.5-stage measures for the metropolitan area and the second-stage measures for non-metropolitan areas have been implemented.

Following the end of last month on the 28th, it was extended once until January 3rd.

It is noteworthy that the government may come up with so-called tweezers quarantine measures to ease or strengthen the water level for some measures.
