[사회]600 people in 5 days… additional mutant virus confirmed

As the number of new corona19 confirmed patients has dropped to 600 in five days, the momentum of the pandemic has declined.

However, the number of deaths per day has soared to 35, the second-highest in history, and additional cases of mutant virus infection from the UK have been confirmed, so the risk factor remains the same.

The number of new confirmed cases per day was 674, down by over 200 from the previous day.

It fell below 1,000 for four days in a row, and after five days, it went down to 600.

Although it is slow and gentle, it is evaluated that the decline continues steadily.

However, 35 people died in one day, recording the second most deaths ever since 40 on the 29th of last month.

Since the middle of last month when the third epidemic began in earnest, double-digit deaths continued for 25 consecutive days, and the fatality rate, the proportion of deaths among confirmed cases, rose to 1.6%.

This increase in deaths is expected to continue through the end of this month.

Additional cases of mutant virus infection have also been confirmed.

On the 19th of last month, a family member of a confirmed person who entered the country from the UK was investigated to be infected with the mutant virus.

Previously, 4 members of the family, including this confirmed person, have also been confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus.

As a result, the number of domestic mutant virus patients increased to 16, including 15 from the UK and 1 from South Africa.

The quarantine authorities once again asked for minimizing contact between individuals, saying that the goal is to reduce the number of confirmed cases a day to the level of 400-500 by the 17th, when social distancing ends.
