Three days after the Lunar New Year holidays ended and social distancing eased, the number of corona19 confirmed cases soared to 600.

Along with group outbreaks in workplaces and hospitals, group infections are increasing through family gatherings during the New Year holidays.

The quarantine authorities expressed serious concern over the weakened quarantine awareness.

As the spread of Corona 19 increased, the number of new confirmed cases was counted at 621.

The number increased by 164 from 457 the previous day, and it was only 38 days that the number of confirmed cases soared to 600.

The number of confirmed cases is rapidly increasing as the number of tests that were only 20,000 during the Lunar New Year holiday has increased to 50,000, the normal level.

The number of confirmed cases, which remained at 300 for three consecutive days until the 15th, rose to 400 on the 16th, and surpassed 600 in one day.

The average number of new confirmed cases per day for the past week is 431, of which 406 confirmed regional occurrences, a key indicator of the adjustment of the distance stage, has entered the 2.5-stage range again.

Concerns about the quarantine consciousness are growing as the number of confirmed cases has greatly increased three days after the step of distancing from the second stage of the metropolitan area and 1.5 of the non-metropolitan area has eased.

As group infections related to Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Seoul and Yeongsenggyo in Bucheon increased, 415 confirmed cases were found in the metropolitan area alone, and as a number of confirmed cases were found at the Asan boiler plant in Chungnam and the plastic plant in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do, the number of confirmed cases in the non-capital area increased significantly to 175.

As group infections appear in earnest at family gatherings during the Lunar New Year holidays, there are observations that the size of new confirmed cases may increase.

The government is in a position that if the number of confirmed cases continues to spread, it may consider adjusting the level of social distancing again.

In addition to the steep increase in the number of confirmed cases, the number of foreign mutant virus infected with strong transmission power increased by 5 to 99, further increasing the anxiety of the quarantine authorities.
