58,000 Pfizer vaccines, which will be targeted by medical staff treating corona19 patients, are coming into Korea today.

We plan to start vaccination this weekend and complete the first vaccination in March.

Pfizer’s supply from Cobax Facility, an international vaccine joint purchase project, arrives in Korea by air.

Vaccines for 58,000 people are divided at the airport and delivered to 5 vaccination centers first, and then transferred to 82 in-house vaccination centers.

The first vaccination will take place at the Central Vaccination Center at 9 am on the 27th and target 300 people, including workers at the National Medical Center.

Other regions will be vaccinated on the 3rd of the following month after training on how to store and thaw Pfizer vaccines and how to dilute injections.

Two doses of Pfizer’s vaccine will be administered by the 20th of the following month, and the second dose will be given 3 weeks later.

While working at the same hospital dedicated to Corona 19, there was controversy over the issue of getting another vaccine.

Pfizer’s medical staff in charge of patient care are controversial over the equity of getting the AstraZeneca vaccine for general ward workers.

In response, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) asked for understanding, saying that it took into account the high risk of infection for the treatment staff of COVID-19 patients even though the vaccine cannot be discussed superior or inferior depending on the type.

Apart from the quantity of CoVax, a verification procedure was also conducted to introduce a vaccine that Pfizer directly receives.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety opened the Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Commission, a legal review body, and sought expert advice on the safety and effectiveness of Pfizer vaccines and considerations for approval.
