As for the infection route, domestic outbreaks are 533 people and foreign inflows are 28 people.

By region, Seoul has 177, Gyeonggi-do 182, and Incheon 37, with 396 people in the metropolitan area alone.

Of these, 80 were positive at the temporary screening test in the metropolitan area.

In the non-capital area, Gyeongbuk has 22, Chungnam 21, Chungbuk 18, and Busan 16, etc.

The number of deaths from Corona 19 increased by 6 to 1,550, and the number of severely ill patients decreased by 8 to 153.

In recent years, the trend of infections has been confirmed in various groups such as hospitals and factories, as well as’family infections’ during the Lunar New Year holidays.

The government is reviewing measures to reinforce quarantine measures, such as distancing, if the spreading trend continues.

Did the government decide to strengthen quarantine in areas with many foreign workers or workplaces with many foreign workers?

First, over 1,900 business sites, including small and medium-sized businesses and meat processing businesses in the metropolitan industrial complex, are inspected.

The target is 16,000 foreign workers, and suspicious symptoms are checked one-on-one non-face-to-face.

This is an expansion of the existing inspection targets, which were limited to agricultural business sites with many foreign workers.

In particular, we will check whether the quarantine regulations are followed in restaurants, lounges, and dormitories at these workplaces, and if violations are detected, a fine will be imposed.

In addition, 500 construction sites and remodeling sites identified as susceptible to infection are also inspected.

Earlier, Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun pointed out that most of the foreign workers at the Namyangju factory where the group infection occurred at today’s major main conference were illegally staying, and that “it is more important to practice thorough measures rather than countermeasures.”
