First of all, please tell me what happened yesterday.

Yesterday, there were 543 corona19 confirmed cases in Korea on one day, and 500 on the fourth day.

Local outbreaks are 521 people, and overseas inflows are 22 people.

There were more than 300 people in the metropolitan area alone, including 154 in Seoul, 143 in Gyeonggi, and 19 in Incheon.

In addition, there were confirmed cases in all regions nationwide, including 61 in Busan, 28 in Gyeongnam, and 20 in Jeonbuk.

The death toll increased by 3 more, the cumulative death toll increased to 1,740, and the number of severely ill patients remained unchanged by 101.

Looking at the recent outbreak, infections are increasing in all everyday spaces such as restaurants, multi-use facilities, and day care centers.

The government is also concerned that this pattern may predict the ‘4th epidemic’.

In particular, the case of group infection in entertainment facilities is also a concern.

This is because there are many close contact without a mask, and there are many cases of hiding the facts of the visit, so there is a high risk of spreading to the community.

The government has repeatedly stressed that it is at a crossroads whether it will go to mass immunization through vaccination or whether the fourth epidemic will become a reality.

The competition for securing vaccines is also getting fiercer, so let’s look at the domestic vaccination situation.

[기자]

Yesterday, 38,000 people received the first dose of the Corona 19 vaccine, and about 6,100 people received the second dose.

Until now, the number of people who received the first vaccination has increased to 953,000 people, and about 26,000 people have completed the second vaccination.

Yesterday, 147 cases were reported as reactions more than one day.

Among them, there was one suspected case of anaphylaxis and two reported cases of death, and an investigation is underway.

The government now expects that if the 4th outbreak occurs, vaccination will be disrupted due to a lack of medical staff.

For this reason, we decided to increase the number of targets for the first vaccination of the vaccine as much as possible in the second quarter.

The government plans to advance some of the people who are eligible for vaccination in the third quarter to the second quarter and those who are eligible for the second quarter to April-May.

To this end, we plan to expand the interval between the 1st and 2nd vaccinations of the AstraZeneca vaccine from 10 weeks to 12 weeks and use the reserves for the 2nd vaccination in advance.

However, it is pointed out that a follow-up measure is needed if the vaccine is not supplied on the specified date after stockpiling in a situation where vaccine competition is fierce.
