YTN reports confirmed that incumbent police officers and court officials are being investigated by police for being involved in a mask fraud case along with a sales book from a gangster.
The Seoul Seongbuk Police Department plans to apply for an arrest warrant against police officer A and Jeonju district court official B, who belong to the Wansan Police Station in Jeonju, on charges of fraud.
Earlier, the police arrested Song Mo, an accomplice gangster, on charges of fraud.
In March of last year, they cheated on selling 400,000 masks to Mr. Cha Mo, who was looking for a quarantine mask for company supply, and were charged with 200 million won for interception.
In addition, other buyers are accused of selling a mask without permission after presenting a fake test report.
As a result of the police investigation, it was revealed that Mr. Song introduced Police Officer A as his pro-uncle, and suggested that Mr. A trust and trade as he is a public servant.
It was investigated that Mr. A personally guided the inside of the mask factory in Jeonju, Jeonbuk, and made a verbal appointment saying that he would soon send the items accumulated in the warehouse.
However, they postponed delivery, saying, “You have to pay for the official quantity first” and “The goods were seized due to the KFDA crackdown,” and they did not return the promised principal.
Of the 200 million won of Mr. Cha’s money, Mr. A is known to have won 120 million won and Mr. Song 80 million won.
In this regard, Mr. A and Mr. B argued that Mr. Song took all the money and that they had nothing to do with fraud.
