The Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office called Prosecutor A, who belonged to the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office in the past, as a reference and investigated it.

This prosecutor worked as a researcher at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, Anti-Corruption and Power Department, the command department when the Anyang branch of Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office investigated the alleged leakage of information on the ban on departure from former Vice Minister Kim Hak-eui at the request of an investigation by the Ministry of Justice in 2019.

Prosecutor A reportedly reported to the upper line after receiving a report containing the progress of the investigation from the Anyang branch.

In addition to the information leaked by former Vice Minister Kim, which was requested by the Ministry of Justice, this report is known to include information on unauthorized inquiries of immigration information and suspicion of prosecutor Gyu-won Lee’s illegal departure ban request.

This is the content contained in the so-called ‘1st Public Interest Report’.

At the time, when the Anyang branch reported the relevant information, the Supreme Prosecutors’ Anti-Corruption Department contacted them with the effect of “Stop the investigation beyond the scope of the investigation request,” and the suspicion that the actual investigation had been stopped was raised through the ‘2nd Public Interest Report’.

It is reported that the prosecution intensively investigated the process and the post-war situation after receiving the report against Prosecutor A at the time.

It is known that Prosecutor A only delivered the report, but replied with the intention that he did not know well otherwise.

Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office last month confiscated and searched the anti-corruption department of the Great Swordsman, and recently, prosecutors from the Anyang District Office investigation team called for investigation.

In particular, this investigation is the first summons of the anti-corruption line of the Great Sword at the time, and it can be interpreted that the investigation into the’external pressure suspicion’ was in full swing.
