From today, the four-day Lunar New Year holidays have begun.

Although the number of visitors to their hometown is expected to decrease due to the corona 19 effect, the highway is congested.

Rest areas with limited indoor eating and drinking are in a busy way.

Lunchtime is approaching, how is the traffic?

Highway congestion sections are increasing.

As of 11:40 a.m., the downbound congestion section is 214 km.

The congestion section has increased by about 100 km from 2 hours ago.

From the Gyeongbu Expressway toward Busan, the Oksan Junction shows a frustrating trend with vehicle travel speeds of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour.

The same is true of Seopyeongtaek Junction from the Seohaean Expressway towards Mokpo.

The congestion on the way home is expected to be resolved around 5-6 PM, and the reverse return vehicle is expected to be resolved around 4-5 PM.

However, the overall traffic situation is smooth.

As of now, it will take 5 hours from Seoul to Busan and 3 hours and 30 minutes from Gwangju.

Although the total number of returnees is expected to decrease in the aftermath of Corona 19, some highway congestion during the holiday season is expected to be inevitable while avoiding public transportation and preferring a car.

Indoor eating is prohibited at rest areas, right?

In the rest area where I am listed, eating indoors is also restricted.

Looking around the rest area, all the indoor tables are in one corner, and access is restricted to prevent food from being placed around the area with tape.

This is a measure in accordance with the’special quarantine measures’ implemented by the quarantine authorities during the Lunar New Year holidays, but it is possible to take food in a package instead.

Currently, customers mainly use stores that sell foods that are easy to eat even in vehicles, such as Havana potatoes and Jippo.

Heat is also checked and access listings are being made in places that go indoors.

Korea Expressway Corporation places additional guides at rest areas to check regularly to ensure that quarantine management measures are well implemented.

In addition, the use of rest area congestion information systems and congestion information road signs are used throughout the road to induce the use of rest facilities.

Unlike other holidays, highway tolls are also charged from today to the 13th.
