[사설]There is no reason for existence if airborne, trying to cover up power corruption

Kim Jin-wook, chief of the high-ranking officials criminal investigation, met with Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol for the first time on the 8th. Interest was focused on the meeting because there have been concerns that the Ministry of Airborne may invoke the right to request an investigation and transfer, and the prosecution may take the power corruption case under investigation and cover it up. After meeting with General Yoon for an hour and 50 minutes, Deputy Minister Kim said, “We had a fundamental dialogue to cooperate well on the case transfer provisions,” but said that he did not discuss the transfer standards in detail. Deputy Minister Kim left room for intervening in the prosecution’s investigation, saying, “If necessary, you should make public announcements, but you can do it without notification.”

Corruption related to the living power has been exploding, but investigations and trials are struggling. In the case of the Cheong Wa Dae’s alleged involvement in the Ulsan mayor’s election, 13 people were prosecuted, but investigations against Lim Jong-seok, former chief of the Blue House’s secretary, have almost stopped. The trial in this case has not been held for more than a year due to the negligent attitude of Deputy Chief Judge Kim Mi-ri, a former member of the Korean Law Research Association, to the deliberate delay of the defendant. Investigation of cases involving passport personnel such as Optimus and Lime Fund fraud is not proceeding properly. It is not irrelevant to this trend that Justice Minister Park Beom-gye has been criticized as’Chumi Love Season 2’by encouraging prosecution officers who have a tendency to pro-state as it is.

If the air defense agency takes over the case of power corruption and properly crushes it, it will be judged by the public sentiment. The Airborne Ministry was created with the aim of combating corruption among high-ranking officials. There is no reason for existence if the airborne agency does not dig into power corruption and acts as a shield for the regime. If the Ministry of Public Affairs covers the flaws of power or conducts an investigation aimed at the critics of the regime, it will be punished as a state-run nongdan, which will eventually lead to abolition. Airborne prosecutors will have to keep in mind that history and the people are watching their first departure.
