In a poll conducted 100 days before the Busan Mayor’s by-election next year, the Busan Ilbo and the YTN showed that the power of the opposition people, the opposition party, dominates the ruling Democratic Party in all indicators, including the approval ratings of opposition candidates and party approval. The total approval rating of the 6 candidates for the strength of the people who had already registered as preliminary candidates was 49.7%, which is close to the majority, while the total approval rate of the four Democratic Party candidates who have not yet made an official candidate was only 21.2%. In each candidate’s approval rating, the power of the people, Professor Park Hyung-jun of Dong-A University, leads the same party, former lawmaker Lee Eon-ju, who is second-placed, and leads solo.

People’s power overwhelms democracy

Most importantly,’Gadeok new airport promotion’

〈Busan Ilbo〉 In this survey conducted by YTN to Real Meter, a polling agency, conducted on 1028 Busan citizens over the age of 18 on the 22nd and 23rd, the fit of the Busan market was 27.4% of the people’s power, Prof. Former lawmaker Lee Eon-ju 13.0%, former Democratic party secretary General Kim Young-chun 11.2%, people’s strength Lee Jin-bok, former lawmaker 4.7%, criminal passport Byeon Seong-wan, Busan mayoral authority and Democratic party Choi Ji-eun, respectively, 4.6%. Prof. Park is the only one to hit the late 20s and climb to the’Lecture 1′, and Lee and Secretary-General Kim are fighting for second place.

In addition, the approval rating of all six candidates under the People’s Strength, including former lawmakers Yoo Jae-jung and Park Min-sik, recorded 49.7%. On the other hand, even though the Democratic Party gathered the approval ratings of four, including former Busan city council chairman Park In-young, it did not reach half of the people’s strength. Even taking into account 15.5% of’no suitable candidates’ and 8.7% of don’t know/no response, the Democratic Party stands out.

In the party approval rate, the people’s power was 36.6%, while the Democratic Party (23.0%) and the Open Democratic Party (3.2%), which tended to be pro-Democrats, were pushed outside the margin of error. Regarding the pre-election structure,’we need to empower the opposition party to judge the government’s ruling party’ (59.5%) overwhelmed that’we need to empower the government ruling party for stable state administration’ (33.3%). This was similar to the evaluation of President Moon Jae-in’s performance of state affairs, with 31.8% saying’You are doing well’ and 65.0%’You are doing wrong.’

An official from Real Meter predicted, “It is a survey that shows that the power of the people is very advantageous in terms of political party support, evaluation of the state administration, and the election frame,” and predicted that “if the Democratic Party delayed the election of candidates, it could be defeated helplessly.”

In addition, the most important issues that the next Busan mayor should focus on in this survey were’Gadeok New Airport’ (26.9%),’East-West Busan balanced development’ 22.9%,’Marine capital promotion’ 10.0%,’Busan· Ulsan-Gyeongnam administrative integration’ 8.4%,’North port redevelopment’ 8.1%, ‘2030 Expo hosting’ 5.3%.

59.7% of the respondents answered’approve’ to the construction of Gaduk New Airport, the biggest pending issue, nearly twice the rate of 30.6% saying’No.’

About 39.7% of the government’s response to’Corona 19′, which was controversial over the issue of lack of vaccines, while 39.7% said that they were doing well, while 57.9% said that they were doing wrong. Citizens’ evaluation turned out to be negative.
