This year, after the launch of the Naro in 2013, a projectile made with pure domestic technology will fly from our land eight years later.

In addition, the next-generation medium-sized satellite that will open the era of civil satellite development and Arirang 6, which can observe all-weather ground, will be launched.

Reporter Kim Jin-du reports.

From the Goheung Space Center, Lake Naro soars into the sky with flames.

It is a successful launch after 3 failures and delays.

Although a single-stage rocket made in Russia was used, this is the first case of completing and launching a projectile on our land.

After that, the quiet space center will be busy again after eight years in October of this year.

This is because the first space launch vehicle manufactured with pure domestic technology, the Nuri, is being tested.

It was scheduled to launch in February, but was delayed by eight months due to delays in the assembly of the core, first-stage rocket.

In March this year, seven months before this, the next-generation medium-sized satellites are heading to space.

It weighs half that of a large satellite like Cheonlian, but it has a competitive edge with a high-performance camera.

In order to foster domestic satellite development companies, Hang Woo-yeon is in charge of units 1 and 2, while units 3 and 5 are developed by the private sector.

At the end of the year, the all-weather earth observation satellite Arirang 6 will be launched.

The camera resolution of No. 6 is 50cm, twice that of No. 5.

It is a technology owned only by satellite powers such as the United States, China, Japan, Europe (EU) and Russia with the ability to separate ground objects at least 50cm apart from 500km in the air.

If the plans scheduled for this year are successfully carried out, Korea is expected to become the world’s top 10 country with its own launch vehicle technology following a satellite powerhouse.
