Strong buying from individual investors continues, and the KOSPI is showing a sharp rise for the second trading day this year. The index has risen to 2990 points, and the entry into the 3,000 units is ahead.

On the 5th, the KOSPI index closed at 2990.57, up 46.12p (1.57%) from the previous trading day.

The index started at 2943.67, down 0.78p (0.03%) from the previous length, and showed fluctuations in the middle of the market. However, it recorded a steep rise in the latter half of the market, with strong buying from individual investors and less selling from foreigners and institutions.

In the securities market on that day, individual investors net bought 7264 billion won, while foreign and institutional investors net sold 209.6 billion won and 539.3 billion won respectively.

By industry, the steel and metal industry (+5.65%) showed a 5% increase. In anticipation of the expansion of the global electric vehicle market, Hyundai BNG Steel (+10.95%), a Hyundai Motor group owner, rose significantly, and SeAH Besteel (+7.41%), a special steel manufacturer, also rose. In addition, the construction industry (+3.83%) and the non-metallic minerals industry (+3.83%) recorded a 3% increase.

On the other hand, some industries, such as the medical precision industry (-0.48%) and the paper and wood industry (-0.20%), showed weak growth.

Seo Sang-young, a researcher at Kiwoom Securities, said, “The US stock market was opened amid increased desire to realize profits, but the stocks that still received good news were solid. The stock market that pays attention to is continued.”

The KOSDAQ index closed at 985.76, up 8.14p (0.83%) from the previous trading day.

The index started at 976.43, down 1.19p (0.12%) from the battlefield, and continued to fluctuate in the second half of the market, and rose from the second half of the market.

In the KOSDAQ market that day, individual investors net bought 4713 billion won, while foreigners and institutional investors net sold 133.2 billion won and 2877 billion won respectively.

In the KOSDAQ market, transportation equipment and parts (+5.87%) and construction (+4.75%) were strong. HLB (+13.29%)’s new anticancer drug’Riboceranib’ was approved on the market as a liver cancer treatment in China, and it rose sharply.

On the other hand, the textile and clothing industry (-0.91%), the paper and wood industry (-0.74%), and the communication equipment industry (-0.65%) ended slightly lower.
