Honda Korea officially launched’New CR-V Hybrid’ and’New Accord Hybrid’ on the 28th.

Honda announced that it will increase the share of hybrid sales in Korea to 80% by 2024 with a plan to make eco-friendly cars two-thirds of the world’s car sales.

Honda Korea sold 3056 units, a 65.1% decrease from the previous year, as the boycott of Japanese products grew last year. The only hybrid model, the Accord Hybrid, sold 1114 units. It is 36.5% of the total sales volume. The newly released New Accord Hybrid is a partial change model. The CR-V hybrid model was Honda’s first hybrid SUV model and was first introduced to the domestic market.

This new car is equipped with the Honda Sport Hybrid i-MMD system. The i-MMD system delivers powerful driving performance by combining two electric motors with the highest level of power in its class (※ motor output of 184 hp) and the highly efficient 2.0L DOHC i-VTEC Atkinson cycle engine. In addition, the driving modes of EV mode, hybrid mode, and engine mode were optimally switched according to the situation to maximize fuel efficiency.

The new Accord will be available in two versions: a hybrid touring and a gasoline model, the turbo trim. The exterior bumper and wheel design have been changed. The hybrid touring has new 19-inch wheels, and convenience features that are highly favored by customers such as single-row ventilated seats and heated steering wheel have also been added.

Honda Sensing has improved the steering switch and instrument panel display to make it easier for drivers to recognize and use. In addition, safety was improved by improving the deceleration stop performance of the automatic response type cruise control (ACC) and the lane tracking performance of the lane keeping assistance system (LKAS). A rear-side alarm system (BSI) and a cross-traffic monitor (CTM) function that detects rear-side approach during reversing and notifies a warning on the display have been added. Low-speed brake control was also introduced.

The new CR-V hybrid will be released in two trims, the 4WD EX-L and the 4WD Touring, and is the first Honda to apply the 4WD system to the hybrid system. Hybrid-specific emblems were installed on the front, rear, and sides, and 19-inch wheels were mounted on the 4WD touring trim. The paddle shift and button-type e-CVT that can charge the battery using the regenerative braking brake are mounted, and the SPORT/EV mode is added for the driving mode, allowing the driver to select the desired driving mode. Based on urban fuel efficiency, fuel efficiency is 15.3km/ℓ, which is characterized by costing only half the price of gasoline than normal SUVs.
