It was confirmed that the law firm’s representative attorney, who had a stake in Justice Minister Park Beom-gye participated in the establishment and held a stake until recently, is currently working as a member of the elections in Daejeon City, with the recommendation of Candidate Park. Until now, Candidate Park has argued that “after election as a member of the National Assembly, he was not involved in the internal operation of the corporation.”

According to the response data received from the Daejeon Election Commission by Rep. Soo-jin Cho, a member of the National Assembly Legislative and Judicial Committee, Shin Sang-hoon, attorney at Law Firm Myung-kyung, has been serving as a member of the election since February 2018. The term of office is until February 2024. In particular, the Election Commission said, “Shin Sang-hoon was recommended by Park Bum-gye, the representative of the Daejeon Metropolitan City Party of the Democratic Party at the time of (appointment).”

Myeong-gyeong, a law firm, was established in 2012, and at the time of its establishment in 2012, Candidate Park invested 10 million won, and candidate Park once served as a representative lawyer. After the 19th National Assembly member election, he resigned as a representative lawyer in 2014, and until recently, he maintained the membership status and investment of 10 million won.

Candidate Park said, “I never went to work at the corporation after the lawyer was closed (by electing a lawmaker) when suspicions were raised that he was continuously involved in the operation of the corporation. It is not involved in the internal operation of the corporation at all.” Afterwards, on the 14th, he said, “I reported withdrawal from the law firm and disposed of the stake.”

Rep. Cho Soo-jin criticized “the candidate’s explanation for not being involved in the operation of the corporation is difficult.” Also, he pointed out that “the fact that the representative of the law firm took over the position of the electoral committee, which is a constitutional institution, affects the public confidence of the law firm.”

Previously, according to Congressman Cho’s office, candidate Park formed the “Companion Election Countermeasure Committee” in March 2016, at the time of the 20th general election, and appointed lawyer Shin as chairman of the Joint Election Countermeasure Committee. In April of the following year, attorney Shin joined the Democratic Party’s Daejeon Metropolitan Party National Sovereignty Election Countermeasures Committee as Gongmyeong Election Support Director. At that time, the chairman of the Daejeon City Party was Candidate Park.
