[단독]A veteran who sent a’Katalk invitation’ to the National Assembly the day before the Cheonan memorial ceremony

On the 25th, one day before the day of the West Sea Protection Day, the bereaved families who visited the 46th Yongsa Cemetery of the Cheonan Shipyard at the National Daejeon Prefectural Center miss their son and are offering Taegeukgi, Navy flags, and harmony. The Day of the West Sea Protection (4th Friday in March) was held in the West Sea, including the 2nd Yeonpyeong Sea Battle (June 29, 2002), the Cheonan bombing (March 26, 2010), and the Yeonpyeong Island Artillery Provocation (November 23, 2010). It is a day to commemorate the 55 soldiers who died during the three major engagements with North Korea. North Korea launched two ballistic missiles in the East Sea from around Hamju, South Hamgyeong Province on this day, again making peace on the Korean Peninsula unstable. Reporter Kim Seong-tae.

On the 25th, the Ministry of National Veterans Affairs sent an invitation to the National Assembly’s Political Affairs Committee and the National Defense Committee’s Office of the House of Representatives for the’West Sea Protection Day’ event (26th) via KakaoTalk message. This is because it is rare that an invitation to an important event organized by the government was sent the day before the event as an official document or KakaoTalk message.

In a phone call with the JoongAng Ilbo, an official from the National Assembly’s Office of the People’s Power of the National Assembly said, “This is the first time I have seen an invitation to an event hosted by the government in KakaoTalk. It seems to have been sent.”

In the message titled 〈National Veterans Affairs Office will inform you on this day,” the Veterans Affairs Office sent at around 5 p.m. on this day. It was scheduled. However, due to the high public interest in the Day of Protection of the West Sea and requests to attend the ceremony, we reviewed the scope of participation as much as possible while complying with the standards of the allowable range of the quarantine authorities. I give it to you.” A map of the event site of the 2nd Fleet Command in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province and a photo file of parking tickets were also attached.

After an hour of controversy, the Veterans Officer explained over the phone

Then, about an hour later, after 6 PM, Veterans Minister Hwang Ki-cheol personally called the National Assembly member and explained the change in the guidelines for attending the event. A member of the lawmaker’s office said, “I think the invitation to KakaoTalk will be controversial, so it was belatedly explained over the phone.”

Rep. Yu-dong Yoo, a member of the Pyeongtaek-based political committee, said, “No matter what regime enters, the state must do its best to the warriors and their families who have dedicated themselves to the country.” It is also a very rude decision for the people and their bereaved families,” he pointed out.

Rep. Ha Tae-gyeong, a member of the same party’s defense committee, criticized Facebook as “the government is joking with a memorial event for the Cheonan ship,” saying, “The Moon Jae-in administration, which kills victims twice, has zero sensitivity to veterans.”

Previously, former Rep. Seung-min Yoo and Rep. Ha Tae-kyung, who belong to the People’s Power, were denied attending the event held in memory of the victims of the Cheonan bombing incident. Rep. Yoo served as the 19th chairman of the National Assembly’s defense committee, and Ha is an incumbent member of the National Assembly’s defense committee.

Rep. Yoo said on Facebook on the 23rd, “I was notified that I could not attend this year’s West Sea Protection Day event. “The Moon Jae-in regime prevents the memorial of the deceased heroes,” he criticized, saying, “The political neutrality of the military is the reason for refusal to attend, so it’s a very difficult and difficult excuse.”

Rep. Ha also said, “It wasn’t just that former CEO Yoo Seung-min was denied attending the Cheonan ship memorial service. “Is this really me?”
