The coffee franchise Starbucks explained the controversy over the broadcaster Sayuri Moonjeonbakdae. Sayuri was evacuated to a cafe with her son due to an apartment fire on the 24th, but controversy arose when he revealed that he could not check the QR code because he did not have a mobile phone.

A Starbucks official said on the Maeil Business Daily Star Today that “when Sayuri-nim visited, the QR code check was not possible, so we guided the handwritten list.” He continued, “However, the policy is to match the ID card.

In order to prevent situations such as writing down other social security numbers, the policy is to check with the ID card when writing by hand.”

The official said, “All branches are following the same guidelines.” “I asked for identification, but they said they didn’t, so I know that the situation was unavoidable and the employee politely asked for understanding. It was not possible to apply differently to Sayuri-sama because the same information was given to other residents in the same situation.”

“It is a situation where each other is embarrassed, but I heard that I could not ignore that a bigger situation could occur if the policy set by the corona19 situation was violated, and I have told it again and again because I applied the same to others. He left after about a minute, but I know that there was a disagreement with the staff who guided me or that there was no such thing.”

Sayuri posted a long post on his Instagram this morning and evacuated to the cafe due to a fire in the apartment, but controversy arose when he revealed that he could not enter because there was no QR code on his mobile phone.

Sayuri said, “A fire broke out on the first basement floor of our apartment around 9:30 am today,” and “Smoke came up to the window of our house and turned white outside, and there was a bad smell and smoke in the hallway, so I went down the stairs. As I went down, the smoke was coming up harder, and even though I went down, my heart seemed to stop with a sense of fear that I could not see the exit,” he explained.

“The thing I was afraid of was that what would happen to my son who was only 3 months old. My son was breathing hard with his small mouth.” I was trembling from the cold while putting on it, and then I entered a cafe to evacuate my son to a safe place.”

But Sayuri hat could not enter the cafe. Sayuri wrote, “Because of the fire, I couldn’t bring my mobile phone and check the QR code.”

He said, “I was standing to order a hot drink, but the employee said that I had to use the QR code first. After explaining the situation at the time, I asked my son to stay indoors for a while, but I was told that it was not possible to the end.”

Sayuri said, “It would have been nice if I had to write down my personal information and allow entry like other stores. I haven’t received any guidance. I don’t want to send it out from the store just because I don’t have a mobile phone.” did.

In accordance with the government’s quarantine guidelines, we politely and kindly guided Sayuri to fill out a handwritten list after checking the QR code or ID card, and the same was given to other customers who visited due to the fire that day.

We ask for your understanding as we have tried to comply with the government’s quarantine guidelines as much as possible, and we plan to review and discuss various alternatives related to store use from various perspectives in the future.
