Seoul Mayor’s Candidate Se-Hoon Oh explained that “I didn’t know the existence and location” of the controversial land of Naegok-dong for’self-preferential treatment’, but it turned out that it was included in the property report during the first legislator before becoming the mayor of Seoul.

In August 2009, when the mayor of Seoul was the mayor, he was involved in designating 106 and 110 Naegok-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul as the Bogeumjari housing business district, jointly owned by his spouse and his family. I am being suspicious of having to take care of it. However, in an article posted on Facebook on the 16th to clarify the suspicion, Candidate Oh said, “I did not know the existence and location of this land at the time, and I still do not know the location.” As the mayor, he did not know that he owned the land, so there is no doubt about the designation of the district.

But <오마이뉴스> As a result of the confirmation, when he was first elected as a member of the National Assembly in 2000, it was found that both 106 and 110 Naegok-dong in question reported property. According to the National Assembly Gazette dated July 28, 2000, Candidate Oh reported that his spouse at the time owned a quarter of an eighth stake in 110 Naegok-dong and 148.75㎡ of Naegok-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. There was no increase or decrease in this property related to property reports from 2001 to 2004, and it seems that the initial report was maintained.

In addition, this property was included in the property report made in 2007 when Candidate Oh was the mayor of Seoul. It is a real estate that has been included in the property details from the time of the first legislator to the reign of the mayor of Seoul. Since the details of property become a basic matter for verification even at the time of an election, candidates who have run for election cannot help but pay attention.

Candidate Oh’s side “The clarification of the candidate means that we did not know whether the land was controversial.”

On the 16th, an official from the camp of Candidate Se-Hoon Oh said, “I knew of course that there was a land in Naegok-dong from the time of the first lawmaker’s property report. The clarification of the candidate means that we did not know whether the land was currently controversial.” Clarified. He said, “The Democratic Party is inflating suspicions by choosing only the facts that are favorable to them,” he said. “Would it have been common sense to have the land for speculation for 40 years?” “The essence of the controversy is whether the land was owned and disposed of for speculation,” he said.

The land in question is the land inherited in 1970 by Professor Song Hyeon-ok of Sejong University, the spouse of Candidate Oh. In the registered copy, it appears that Professor Song had been jointly owned with his family from that year, and then transferred to the Seoul Urban Housing Corporation (SH) in 2011. This is because this area was accepted as the Bogeumjari housing business district in October 2009. However, the mayor of Seoul at the time was Candidate Se-hoon Oh.

On the 9th of August 2009, a member of the Democratic Party with Chun Joon-ho released an official letter requesting the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs to designate Naegok-dong as a Bogeumjari housing district. “Isn’t the land handed over to SH using his authority?” he raised the question.
