Ahn Cheol-soo, the representative of the National Assembly Party, officially running for mayor of Seoul, met with independent lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo at a temple in Daegu on the afternoon of the 11th.

According to both representatives Ahn and Congressman Hong, the two met by chance at Donghwa Temple in Palgongsan Mountain in Daegu this afternoon. It was a place to greet the New Year’s greetings to the Buddhist monk Jongjeong of Jogye-jong. It is said that the two people at the temple set the same time for prevention. At this meeting, Buddhist monk Jinje said that he gave a virtue to Representatives Ahn and Congressman Hong, saying, “Achieve what you mean.”

This is not the first time the two have met. Recently, when Ahn was weighing his run for the mayor of Seoul, the two met at a restaurant near Seoul. As long as you know the situation at the time, “I know that Rep. Hong actively invited Representative Ahn to run for mayor of Seoul,”He said.

The general evaluation of the politicians is that the two people they met as rivals during the 2017 presidential election were not politically close. However, after the recent meeting, Congressman Hong’s attitude toward Ahn has changed dramatically. On the 20th of last month, when Ahn declared running for mayor of Seoul, Congressman Hong wrote on his Facebook page, “I believe that Ahn’s running for mayor of Seoul will be a decisive opportunity to accelerate the change of power by making the opposition bigger.” . Regarding Representative Ahn, he praised, “It is a great transformation that Ahn, who looked good and gentle without a competitive temperament, has such a pulpit.”

In a Facebook article posted on the same day just before the meeting with CEO Ahn, CEO Hong said, “I wanted to live the life of’Nangjung Jichu’, but from the beginning of the year, I asked for a life of’Nandeukhodo’. It’s embarrassing,” he said. “But when I see CEO Ahn Cheol-soo, it seems that it makes sense. It was politically proved even by looking at YS that people flock only when there is an empty corner,” he wrote. Nan Deuk-hodo, which means that what appears to be less self-respecting and what appears to be insufficient by others, will eventually become wise, is an ancient Chinese proverb originated from the hustle and bustle of the Qing Dynasty painter and calligrapher Jeong Seop.

Kim Jong-in, chairman of the National Power of the People, is speaking at the Emergency Response Committee meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul on the morning of the 11th. Chairman Kim said that at the preliminary meeting with the non-delegation members before the non-delegation meeting, he was uncomfortable at the party’s officials trying to explore the possibility of solidarity with the National Assembly representative Ahn Chul-soo. One participant said, “Even if Chairman Kim goes to the Democratic Party and the people’s strength, and even if we go to a three-way structure with Representative Ahn, we can win if we get a good candidate, so we should not comment on Ahn anymore.” Reporter Oh Jong-taek

The meeting between the two attracted attention from the political circles in a strange contrast to the negative voice of Kim Jong-in’s voice over the possibility of solidarity with President Ahn ahead of the by-election of the mayor of Seoul in April. Recently, members of the party, including Chairman Jeong Jin-seok of the People’s Power Nomination Management Committee, mentioned the’party-to-party integration’ with the People’s Party and actively sought solidarity and unity with Representative Ahn, but Chairman Kim Jong-il made the opposite voice.

Chairman Kim said that he expressed uncomfortable feelings about being repeatedly mentioned as a single candidate for the Mayor of Seoul as a single candidate for the Seoul Mayor’s voting opposition even at a tea time with the non-commissioned members prior to the party’s non-deputy meeting. One participant said, “I don’t know why, “I can’t know why I’m always trying to attract representatives,” said Mr. He complained about the purpose. It was quite an enraged appearance.”

Chairman Kim also said at this meeting that he said, “Even if we go to the Democratic Party and the people’s strength, and even if we go in a three-way structure with Representative Ahn, we can win if we win the candidate, so don’t mention President Ahn anymore.” In this regard, Mayor Oh refuted on his SNS on the day, saying, “There is no unification that does not acknowledge the reality of the other party,” and “it is not appropriate for an answer that suddenly returned without prior coordination.”

Meanwhile, Congressman Hong is expanding his stride by meeting with candidates for the mayor of Seoul, including Representative Ahn and opposition parties. Rep. Hong, who met with former Mayor Oh Se-hoon at the end of last year, said that he will meet with former lawmaker Na Gyeong-won, who is considering running for mayor of Seoul on the 12th.
