[단독] NCsoft raises annual salary of 10 million won for all employees

NCsoft, the eldest brother of the Korean game industry, joins the trend of unprecedented salary increase.

According to industry sources on the 17th, NC recently decided to increase the annual salary of all employees by 10 million won. It is known that NC convened an emergency board of directors immediately after Nexon announced the plan to increase its unprecedented salary and made this decision. To this end, NC has set a budget of about 80 billion won for an annual salary increase in 2021.

NC’s annual salary increase is 2 million won higher than that of its rivals Nexon and Netmarble (8 million won). It is analyzed as a movement of’human resource management’ to secure good talent in the future without losing talent to competitors. It can be interpreted that it is a decision to protect the pride of NC, which was the first company that came to mind when talking about’money’ in the game industry.

In addition to raising the salary, NC is reorganizing the incentive system. As before, rather than paying lump sum incentives to all employees, the direction has been shifted to empower employees and departments that have actually performed and receive compensation.

An NCsoft official said, “It has not been decided yet.”
