[아이뉴스24 서민지 기자] LG Electronics released the world’s first rollable TV,’LG Signature All-Red R’, to overseas markets, reinforcing the market expansion. The strategy is to increase accessibility by selling online in the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

According to the industry on the 17th, LG Electronics will release’LG Signature All-Red R’in the overseas market next month. It has been about 5 months since its launch in Korea at the end of October last year. The country of release is targeted virtually all over the world.

As online sales are expanding in Corona 19, it is known that the online method for overseas launches is dominant. In particular, it is reflected that there are restrictions on the display and operation of ultra-high-priced premium products due to a different distribution structure in the case of overseas, unlike domestic that has its own distribution network.

By adopting the online method, orders can be placed anywhere, making it possible to enter virtually all global markets. ‘LG Signature All-Red R’is produced in Korea, and it is expected to be sold by receiving orders and sending delivery online.

LG Electronics’ confidence can be seen in that it sells products that cost 100 million won online. It is interpreted that the demand for rollable TVs will be sufficient even without seeing the real thing as the interest continues since it first appeared at the world’s largest home appliance and IT exhibition’CES 2019′.

It is known that LG Electronics has struggled with the timing and method of rolling out overseas rollable TVs until the end. An official familiar with LG Electronics’ internal situation pointed out, “Online sales is a way to introduce rollable TVs, and there is no time and space constraints.”

The’LG Signature All-Red R’is a model aimed at the top demand with the highest quality and scarcity. The screen size is 65 inches, and OLED’s unique characteristics that each pixel emit light by itself is applied. The domestic shipping price is 100 million won.

Since the screen curls, there is a distinction in that it can produce a variety of spaces, unlike conventional products. Various modes are available, such as’Full View’ in which the entire screen is opened,’Line View’ in which only a part is opened, and’Zero View’, which completely rolls out the screen.

This product is produced at the Gumi TV production line in Gyeongbuk. It is characterized by the fact that master craftsmen from production to quality inspection are carried out by hand.

At the time of its launch in Korea, LG Electronics said, “LG Signature OLED R is an unprecedented product that sublimates technological innovation into a single work.” I will make it solid,” he explained.

LG Electronics is in the mood to accelerate the’popularization of all-red TVs’ this year. It is focusing on preoccupying the fast-growing market with 18 all-red models including’LG Signature All-Red R’. This is an increase of six from last year and is the largest lineup since the release of OLED TV.

According to market research firm Omdia, this year’s OLED TV market is expected to reach 5.6 million units, an increase of more than 60% from the previous year.

An industry official said, “Because the rollable TV is a super premium model, the demand segment is limited.”
