There is a long way to go, but vaccines and treatments will go hand in hand.
However, we are not yet sure whether this virus will be completely conquered or will coexist under less threat.
Still, we hear good news right away.
Prime Minister Chung Sye-gyun today is highly likely that the first supply of COVAX, an international vaccine supplier, will come in early next month, and MBC’s interviews have confirmed that the incoming vaccine is Pfizer’s vaccine already being vaccinated in the United States and Europe.
This means that the first vaccination in Korea could be a Pfizer vaccine in early or mid-February, not AstraZeneca, which was originally known at the end of February.
Reporter Park Seon-ha covered it alone.

“(From Kovacs) I got a call asking’Will you be able to receive it in early February?
As a result of the MBC interview, the first Corona 19 vaccine was confirmed as a Pfizer vaccine.
A senior government official said, “The vaccine our government has decided to receive from Kovacs is Pfizer Vaccine,” and said, “Kobex has consulted a doctor in Korea with a late contract with Pfizer.”

“If we secure Pfizer first in Kovacs, we can get it first. Because we have to give it to a country where we can use it… If we give it to an underdeveloped country (because there is no frozen distribution system), we can’t use it.”
If COVAX makes a final decision at the end of this month, it is highly likely that the Pfizer vaccine will be the first vaccine to be introduced in Korea.
Vaccination can also be made possible in early and mid-February by applying’special income’, which is a kind of emergency use approval, and may be performed before the AstraZeneca vaccine scheduled for the end of February.
A government official explained that the Pfizer vaccine was approved for emergency use by the WHO, and experts from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety participated in the review, and that the application of the special case would provide a considerable basis and speed up the procedure.
An official from the Agency for Disease Control and Prevention said, “We have secured 100 cryogenic freezers, and a contract is underway for a cryogenic distribution center. Even if the Pfizer vaccine, which must remain below -70 degrees Celsius, comes in immediately, there is no problem with storage and distribution.”
However, we plan to announce by the end of this month who will be given priority vaccination and how many places to receive vaccination.
As such, AstraZeneca in the first quarter, Janssen and Modena in the second quarter, and Pfizer vaccines will be introduced sequentially in the third quarter, and the government is aiming to form a collective immunity for the whole country around November this year.
However, as we have yet to determine how much antibodies will form, experts stress that even if vaccination begins, distances and masks should continue this year.
