Traffic Broadcasting (TBS)’s campaign to increase YouTube subscribers was engulfed in a pre-election campaign controversy late on the 4th. The pro-females lined up and shouted “Let’s do things (1),” reminiscent of the Democratic Party’s symbol “No. 1”.

It’s a misunderstanding to cheer for TBS “與
It means to increase the number of subscribers by 1″

TBS held a campaign to create 1 million subscribers (‘Let’s do #1’) from November 16 to 27 last year. In the promotional video released through YouTube, etc., TBS program hosts such as Kim Eo-jun, Joo Jin-woo, Kim Gyu-ri, Choi Il-gu, and Tei appear, “I have to work (1), now I do work (1)” Etc.

In another video, photographs of historical figures such as Edison, Franklin, Lincoln, and Tess (Socrates) appear, along with his phrase, “Please do one so that TBS can work.”

Although the originally stated campaign period has passed for over a month, controversy is growing as TBS continues to promote its sound sources and videos through radio and homepages. Even after the radio program ended on the 3rd, the sound source’Let’s do 1’appeared. As of 2pm on the 4th, this campaign will be displayed on the first screen when you access the TBS main homepage.

Among netizens, a suspicion was raised that TBS is conducting a pre-election campaign ahead of the by-election of the mayor of Seoul this April. Hundreds of people comment on this article and express their sympathy.

One netizen claimed, “I don’t know if TBS’s campaign is to work or vote for number 1,” and “reminds the Democrats.” Responses such as “Is it asking for the first film?”, “It’s too blatant”, “Is it politician broadcasting with citizen tax on public broadcasting?” Another netizen also revealed that it had filed a complaint with the Central Election Commission through the Kookmin Shinmungo regarding the suspicion of pre-election movement.

In response, TBS said, “It meant that each subscriber needs more power so that TBS can work,” and said, “It is totally misunderstood that the campaign supports the ruling party.”

He said, “The originally stated campaign period was the sweepstakes event period,” he said. “We have not yet reached the goal of 1 million subscribers, so we will continue the campaign.”
