Over the consecutive closed meetings of the two candidates, the opposition is interpreted as “isn’t it giving an active signal of unification in a’top-down’ way.” The top-down method means that the leadership team first meets to reach a large framework of consensus, and then makes detailed adjustments at the working-level meeting. In fact, the two candidates met on the 7th, two days before the first working-level meeting (9th), and on the 10th, one day before the second working-level meeting (11th).

This afternoon, the working group ended the second meeting. Representative Lee Tae-gyu of Candidate Ahn said, “We agreed to conduct public opinion polls on the 17th and 18th and announce the unification on the 19th,” after meeting with the reporters. The unification competition between Candidate Oh and Candidate A is a very close match. According to a public opinion poll commissioned by KBS to Korea Research on the 11th, 38.4% of respondents said that pan-optics should be unified as candidate Oh, and 38.3% said that pan-optics should be unified as candidate Ahn.
