[단독] ‘Adjustment plan’ spread before announcement… The secretary office of the mayor of Incheon is leaked

Earlier this month, the government announced plans to extend social distancing, and the day before the announcement, a document containing related information was spread over the Internet. As a result of our interview, it was confirmed that a public official belonging to the secretary’s office of the mayor of Incheon is being investigated for leaking it.

On the first day of the new year, a document called’Method to adjust social distancing in the metropolitan area’ floated.

The handwriting was written saying that the 2.5 steps of distance will be extended by 3 weeks, and that the presentation will be announced after the script meeting the next day.

Outflow of documents

However, the actual announcement was a two-week extension.

The quarantine authorities apologized for causing confusion to the people and requested an investigation.

The leaker was Mr. A, a civil servant in the secretary’s office of the mayor of Incheon.

Mr. A shared the document on social media chat rooms where office workers and reporters he knew, and it has since spread online.

The police sent Mr. A to the prosecution on charges of leaking secrets for official service.

Mr. A insisted that the leak of internal documents was inappropriate, but it was not a secret leak because it had already spread to the Internet.

At the time, Hwaseong City posted an apology for extending its distance on official social media.

This is not the only time that public officials who must deliver the most accurate information to the public amid the unprecedented corona19 epidemic have rather instigated confusion.

In February of last year, a public official at Gwangju City Hall leaked personal information of the confirmed person and handed it over to trial.
