It has been confirmed that the former chairman of the Green Dream Cooperative (57), former chairman of the Green Dream Cooperative, Hur In-hoe, a businessman from the ’86th generation movement circle’, was recently released from arrest. Former Chairman Heo, who was accused of violating the Lawyers Act, was released one month before the expiration of his arrest period, and was left with the remaining trial in disrepair.

According to the Seoul Northern District Law on the 16th, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors’ Office filed a notice of release of former Chairman Heo to the court on the 1st. An official at the prosecution said, “Former Chairman Huh applied for bail and was released.” “The defendant’s health has deteriorated, and the expiration date of the arrest period is nearing, so he applied for bail,” explained Huh’s defense attorney.

The release of former Chairman Heo came when the period of arrest expired one month. As it was, the timing of the release of former Chairman Heo is the end of this month. In the first trial process, the defendant may be detained three times for a maximum of six months each two months. Earlier, the prosecution indicted former chairman Heo on August 27 last year.

Corona 19 was also a factor in allowing former Chairman Huh to be tried without disregard. This is because the trial of former Chairman Huh, scheduled on January 8, was postponed due to the impact of a large-scale confirmed case in the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul at the end of last year.

Some of the confirmed cases in the Eastern Detention Center attended the Northern District Court trial, causing a disruption in the trial schedule. In the meantime, as the arrest period passed, as a result, the environment was created in which former Chairman Huh could be tried without custody. Former Chairman Huh’s next trial is on the 12th of next month.

Former Chairman Huh was charged with violating the Lawyers Act last year. In 2014-2018, Chairman Huh is accused of receiving a total of 390 million won from various private companies and an additional 200 million won in exchange for soliciting and mediating members of the National Assembly and the heads of local governments. The companies that gave money to the former Chairman Heo are various companies such as wireless wiretapping detection device companies, ecosystem conservation cooperation fund return business agencies, and food waste disposal companies. Former Chairman Heo denied the allegations during the trial, saying that his conduct was not a violation of the Lawyers Act.

Meanwhile, as a politician contacted by former Chairman Heo during the trial, many incumbent members of the Democratic Party and the real names or positions of local government heads were discussed. However, it is known that they were not accused because they did not share profits.

Former Chairman Huh, who is from the 86th generation movement, is classified as an entrepreneur with a close relationship. After serving as the president of the Korea University Student Council in the 1980s, he served as Uri Party Youth Chairman from 2004 to 2005 and ran for the general elections as candidates for the Millennium Democratic Party in 2000 and the Uri Party in 2004, but successively failed.
