[스포티비뉴스=박대성 기자/임창만 영상기자] “If you’re a player, of course, I want to play all games and get a lot of opportunities.”

Kang-in Lee (20, Valencia) wants to play every game. I always want to start full-time, but the choice was up to the manager. Focus on opportunities in the training ground and try to improve. There is a lot of new year going around now, but for now, we are focusing on the Valencia schedule.

Kang-in Lee is a talent that grew up in Valencia. He went through the Valencia youth team step by step, and in 2019, he went through the B team and was promoted to the 1st team. This season, he played as a starter before the opening and jumped into a full-fledged main battle with two assists.

In an exclusive interview with Spanish Primera Li’s broadcaster’SPOTV’, he said what he felt so far. From January 2019, he said, “I was able to play and experience in a good league. It’s really helpful to me.”

The Primera Liga shoots round 25 and is running towards the second half. Valencia is in 14th place after falling into a slump in the first half. The atmosphere is desperate for a rebound, as it is only a 5 point difference from the 18th relegation zone. Every round is overwhelming. But Lee Kang-in thought positively, saying, “I came to Spain for the first time and I’ve been learning a lot so far. I think I’m becoming a better player after joining the first team.”

Team performance was not satisfactory, but not everyone gave up. When asked about my mood in Valencia, “We always want to win, but we’re not right now. The players are often struggling, but the atmosphere is not bad. The teammates and the staff come together to try to get the best possible performance. We try our best to do the best on the rest of the schedule and make it better. I’m trying to show my appearance,” he replied.

The most memorable game this season is the opening game no matter what. He played two tops with Maxime Gomez in the opening game with Levante, and made a big success for 71 minutes as a starter. Valencia won 4-2 with 2 assists.

Lee Kang-in smiled, saying, “The opening game is memorable. I thought the first start of the season was very important. It was good to be able to win the first game. It is more memorable because I played for the first time in the 1st group opening game.”

He is an excellent talent for flashing passes, ball keeping, and sensational side-to-side switching. However, even after coach Harvey Gracia took the baton, the playing time was not secured as expected. Locally, he highlighted the conflict between Gracia and the high-ranking, and voiced criticism, saying, “Why not use Lee Kang-in as a starting point?”

I directly asked Kang-in Lee for his small amount of time to participate. Lee Kang-in said, “As a player, of course, I want to play all games. I want to play a lot and I want to get a chance.” However, he did not give up competition, saying, “In the end, the choice is up to the manager. You can play a lot or less. You have to always do your best. We try to improve to show a better appearance.”

Director Gracia’s orders were also fulfilled as faithfully as possible. Kang-in Lee said, “There may be weaknesses or strengths. I will try to make up for that part. (Director Gracia) wants to help the team by making the most of my strengths. I emphasize everything in karate, but I am playing where I play. You seem to want a lot of roles in the game. I’m trying to work hard as much as possible,” he explained.

The personal goal was “I want to gain as much experience as possible without getting hurt. I have about 3 months left, but I want to finish it well.” To the Korean soccer fans who watch the game until late at night, he pledged, “I will always show you the best figure in the best condition. We ask for a lot of attention and support.”
