[아시아경제 원다라 기자] The temperature is expected to drop to -15 degrees this weekend. Snow news was also forecast from Sunday night.
The Meteorological Administration issued a cold wave warning at 9 pm on the 15th. The cold wave advisory comes into effect when the temperature is below -12 degrees Celsius for more than 2 days or when the temperature drops sharply and major damage is expected.
The temperature in the morning on Saturday, on the 16th, is expected to drop to minus 10 degrees Celsius in northern Gyeonggi and Gangwon Yeongseo, while the other metropolitan areas, inland Chungcheong, inland North Gyeongsang, and inland Jeonbuk-east are expected to drop to -5 degrees.
The morning temperature on the 17th was 3 to 5 degrees lower than on the 16th, so the morning temperature in Gyeonggi and Gangwon Yeongseo was around -15 degrees, while the metropolitan area, North Chungcheong, and northern Gyeongbuk were forecast to be around -10 degrees.
The Meteorological Administration said, “The wind blows strongly on the 16th and 17th, and the sensational temperature is even lower, so it will be colder.”
It will gradually become cloudy from the night of the 17th, Sunday, and snow will fall at the dawn of the 18th, Monday.
Estimated snowfall from the afternoon of the 17th to 6pm on the 18th of Monday is Gangwon-do (excluding the east coast), 5-10cm in the north of Chungcheong Province, the metropolitan area (excluding the eastern part of Gyeonggi Province), the Chungnam area, the southern part of Chungbuk, the inland of Jeonbuk, and the north of Gyeongsang (excluding the east coast), The west sea 5do is 2~7cm long.
The Meteorological Administration said, “There must be a lot of slippery places due to freezing rain or snow, so please pay special attention to traffic safety.”
Meanwhile, the concentration of fine dust on the weekend was expected to be’normal’ nationwide.
