With a stronger cold coming this morning than yesterday, Seoul hit the lowest temperature this winter in just one day.

The temperature in Seoul fell to -12.8 degrees Celsius, and the temperature felt by the wind was very cold, staying around -18 degrees Celsius.

The subzero cold continues even in the middle of the day, so be sure to wear warm outerwear, scarves, gloves and other cold protection items when going out.

With the’cold wave warning’ in effect in central and northern Gyeongsangbuk-do, this morning was colder than yesterday.

According to an unofficial record, the temperature of Hyangrobong Peak in Inje-gun, Gangwon-do has plummeted to -23.8 degrees Celsius.

Other Daegwallyeongs were 20.2 degrees below zero and 17.6 degrees below zero in Cheorwon, which was 1-5 degrees lower than yesterday.

Even during the day, subzero temperatures will continue throughout the day, including 3 degrees below zero in Seoul, 1 degrees below zero in Daejeon, and 2 degrees below zero in Andong.

Tomorrow, the first day of the year, will also drop to -8 degrees Celsius in the morning of Seoul, and the strong cold is expected to continue next week.

Snow continues to fall in Chungnam, Honam and Jeju Island amid the cold.

From yesterday until now, 35.2cm of snow has accumulated in Julpo-myeon, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do, and 33.4cm of Ulleungdo.

By tomorrow, there will be more than 20cm of snow in the mountains of Jeju and many places on Ulleungdo and Dokdo, and up to 15cm or more in Honam.
