This is part of a conversation between a former special teacher A, a former special teacher at the Incheon National Public Daycare Center, who was arrested on the 15th for abusing children with disabilities more than 100 times, with his aunt, a parent victim of child abuse in December last year. Mr. Lee’s child is a special child with autism. At that time, Mr. A was in a state of being targeted for investigation by the police because it was revealed that he abused the mother-in-law’s child (special child), who was the first reporter of this case.

◆Abusive teacher who denied charges on the first phone call
With anxiety that my child would have been abused, Lee talked to Mr. A and asked, “You didn’t hurt my child, too?” Mr. A cried here and replied, “How pretty I did 000.”

According to the transcripts between the two people obtained by JTBC, Mr. A also says, “As my mother thought (the teachers) did not do that,” “I’m so upset,” “Thank you for trusting me.” Prior to this call, Mr. Lee believed in Mr. A as much as he said to Mr. A, “I really respect you for caring for disabled children.” However, as a result of the police investigation, Mr. A was the main culprit in this case, who abused Lee’s child the most. Of the six teachers at the daycare center accused of child abuse, the severity of the abuse was the most severe with the former teacher B, who was arrested on the same day.

The CCTV that Mr. Lee saw at the police station last month contained a scene where Mr. A held a child as if handling an object and waved it dozens of times. The child was surprised enough to fall asleep when Mr. A approaches and raises his hand. In a call with JTBC, Mr. Lee said, “When I made a phone call with Teacher A, I even felt grateful. The moment I saw a video of a child being abused by the police, my billionaire collapsed.”

◆The day before the decision to restraint, bring a basket of sweets to visit
Mr. A personally visited Mr. Lee’s house the day before the court’s warrant deliberation on the 15th. Waiting until midnight in front of the house, I left the snack basket in front of Mr. A’s door. As if foreshadowing his arrest, Mr. A also left a text saying, “It will be difficult to contact you and apologize like this after tomorrow.” Mr. Lee did not receive a call from Mr. A. This is because the child who was abused by Mr. A suffered from trauma symptoms that screamed for being unable to sleep. The abused child is unable to leave the house.

Mr. Lee confirmed Mr. A’s text until 1 am when his child fell asleep. In an interview with JTBC, Lee said, “It seems to be a strategy to reduce penalties and how people can do this.” Attorney Yang Hong-seok (Lee Gong) said, “If a teacher wants to apologize, it must have been done before that.”

On the 15th, the Incheon District Law arrested Mr. A and Mr. B, saying, “There is a concern about escape”. Mr. B, who was arrested, was a teacher teaching ordinary children. Parents said, “Mr. B has fewer abuses than Mr. A, but the degree is more serious.” “The two teachers are likely to be sentenced to prison, and the court seems to have been arrested for fear of fleeing,” said a lawyer who was a former chief judge.

◆Police and other teachers are also charged with child abuse
The police are investigating four other teachers and directors who worked at the day care center, including the two arrested teachers, for child abuse and violations of the Child Welfare Act. According to the police, some other teachers are not enough to request a warrant, but the situation of child abuse has been revealed. A total of 10 children were affected, including 5 children with autism and 5 children. Among them, there was a ‘0-year-old’ infant who was not even a stone.

The daycare director is accused of neglecting the management of abused teachers. The victims said, “We were able to check CCTVs containing the abuse in the director’s office,” claiming that the director is an accomplice. Police plan to send accused teachers and directors to the prosecution as early as this week, including the two arrested. It has been about two months since this incident was first known.

◆”I wouldn’t be able to withstand it without other mothers”
Seven parents of the victims protested outside the court for four hours on the day of the warrant examination, calling for severe punishment. It was a cold day with a temperature of 5 degrees below zero. The victims cried, not resentment or blame, when Teachers A and B entered the court for a warrant examination. Everyone said they remembered a child who had been abused.

Jang, the first informant in this case, said, “Other teachers and directors should also be punished.” Lee, the parent of the most abused child, said, “It would have been really difficult to get through this life if other mothers weren’t there.”
