[국제]WHO expert team visits Wuhan Virus Lab

A team of experts from the World Health Organization, who is working to identify the origin of Corona 19 in Wuhan, China, visited the Wuhan Virus Research Institute today.

The Associated Press reported this, adding that the visit is an important timeline for gathering data and finding clues about the outbreak and spread of Corona 19.

Prior to entering the lab, Peter Dazak, an American zoologist who is part of the expert team, told reporters that she would look forward to meeting all of the key people in the lab and asking all the necessary questions.

Foreign media reported that the Wuhan Virus Research Institute, China’s top-notch virus research organization, is under suspicion that it may be related to the start of Corona 19.

In addition, the reason for this claim is that the Wuhan Virus Research Institute has accumulated genetic information on the bat coronavirus since the outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, in 2003.

Earlier last year, the then-U.S. President Donald Trump argued that researchers at the Wuhan Virus Research Institute created symptoms like Corona 19, claiming that the research center could be the source of Corona 19, and China countered that it was not true.

In connection with the visit, the Global Times newspaper, a Chinese government news agency, reported that a team of experts from the World Health Organization will also meet with the so-called’bat woman’ virus expert Dr. Jeong-ri Su.

While Dr. Sujeong-ri previously claimed that SARS originated from bats that live in caves in various parts of China, he recently published a paper that suggests that the corona 19 may have been transmitted to humans by mink, a weasel animal, not a bat.

The Global Times added that according to the World Health Organization, cases of Corona 19 infection were reported in mink farms in 8 countries including the Netherlands, France, Italy and the United States.
