The US and China held high-level talks in Alaska for two days, but the schedule was closed without a joint statement or announcement.

The two countries discussed various issues, including the North Korean issue, but failed to reach a low level of agreement.

It seems that there was a tense fight between the two sides for two days and one night.

The two countries of the United States and China had a slander in both remarks on the first day, followed by the second day.

US Secretary of State Tony Blingen and White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Chinese Communist Party Political Officer Yang Jietz and Foreign Minister Wang Yi concluded three 2+2 talks in Anchorage, Alaska.

As expected, it was not able to make a joint statement or a press release, so it was predicted that the conflict between the US and China would continue for some time.

After the meeting, Sullivan said, “I expected a difficult and straightforward conversation over a wide range of issues, and that’s exactly what it is.”

He said the U.S. has given priorities and intentions and listened to China’s position. He said it will continue to cooperate with allies and partners to move forward, and continue to cooperate with China.

“We had honest, constructive and informative conversations,” said Yang Jietsu, “but of course there are still differences.”

“The two sides must follow a’non-conflict policy’ to move on to a stable trajectory,” he stressed.

Secretary of State Blincoln expressed his concern for China and presented US principles and worldview.

He said he had an honest conversation on conflict issues between the US and China, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, and Xinjiang.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi said he made it clear that China’s determination to defend sovereignty, a matter of principle, should not be underestimated.

Despite disagreements, this discussion served as an opportunity for the two countries to have various conversations. The North Korean issue was also included, right?

Secretary Blincoln said he had long and very candid conversations over a wide range of agendas, including North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, and climate change.

After the talks, senior US officials say the United States can explore if there are any areas to cooperate with China, especially those areas.

The United States urged China to play a role, pointing out that China is passive about sanctions by the international community to bring North Korea to the dialogue table.

Bloomberg said the United States tried to lower expectations before the talks, but failed to make any announcements that it did not reach its lower targets.

Reuters said the talks showed the depth of the conflict between the two major economies.

This discussion was the first high-level face-to-face contact between the United States and China since President Biden took office in January.
