Secretary of State Tony Blincoln has said he will try to be elected as the next member of the Human Rights Council.
In doing so, I asked for support from member states.
In particular, he urged the Human Rights Council to support resolutions addressing ongoing human rights violations in North Korea and Syria.
It is with the North Korean human rights resolution in mind, which is usually envisaged every March.

The U.S. has participated in North Korean human rights resolutions as a co-proposer from 2010 to 2018 since former President Barack Obama took office and was elected as a member of the Human Rights Council.
However, the former administration of Donald Trump left the Human Rights Council in June 2018 because of a disproportionate view of Israel.
It has rarely raised human rights issues to negotiate denuclearization with North Korea.
President Biden has proclaimed several times the emphasis on democracy and human rights, and has declared a return to the new administration.
In the midst of this, William Burns, the director of the US Central Intelligence Agency’s designation for a personnel hearing, pointed out North Korea as a threat.
With the international landscape becoming increasingly complex and competitive, he said provocative North Korea is a familiar threat.

As such, the Biden administration’s view of North Korea is embodied through commentary on each case by officials.
The Biden government clearly stated its intention to actively respond to specific issues such as human rights and provocations.
It is paying attention to what effect it will have on the denuclearization negotiations with North Korea in the future and how the North Korean reaction will be.
