[국제]UK plans to boost South African mutant vaccine fall

[앵커]

The UK government has said it plans to vaccinate against the South African mutant virus in the fall.

This is a countermeasure against research findings that the AstraZeneca vaccine is less effective against mutations in South Africa. Like the flu vaccine, the situation that the Corona 19 vaccine must be received every year is becoming a reality.

The UK government has launched a vaccine update plan in response to the mutation of the Corona 19 virus.

It announced that it will form a partnership with German Curebaek and develop a vaccine that can respond to new mutations immediately.

In particular, the vaccine against the South African mutant virus is expected to be available this fall.

It’s easy to make a countermeasure vaccine by making some changes to the vaccine manufacturing process, but that’s because it needs to be tested.

Vaccine experts in the UK have warned of undue concern over research findings that the AstraZeneca vaccine, made with Oxford University, is less effective against mutations in South Africa.

Although it was not enough to prevent the spread of mild symptoms, he said it still has the effect of not leading to a serious condition.

However, he stressed that even if a new vaccine comes out in the fall, it is not the end.

As there is a possibility of the emergence of a new mutant virus, it is time to think about getting the corona vaccine annually or regularly like the flu vaccine.
