People who have already been infected with the COVID-19 mutant virus found in South Africa are very likely to reinfect them, according to Anthony Pouch, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the United States.

In the UK, 80,000 residents in eight regions were tested on visits, where a suspected natural outbreak of the South African mutant virus was found.

Pouch appeared on CNN broadcasting and said that if the corona 19 mutant virus from South Africa spreads, there is a very high probability that even people who have already had Corona 19 will be reinfected.

In the case of the South African mutation, the immune effect of the existing viral infection is virtually ineffective.

However, although the vaccine reduces the protection against mutations, he says it has sufficient protection to prevent serious illness leading to hospitalization and death.

He stressed that the only way to prevent further mutation of the virus is to get a wide range of vaccinations as quickly as possible.

The UK government has been screening 80,000 residents of eight regions where the mutant virus has been found to track the mutant virus.

It also revealed that they are considering in depth with pharmaceutical companies how to modify the vaccine to be effective against mutant viruses.
