Even though the police announced the initial investigation that it is too early to judge it as a hate crime, the suspect’s post on the sns overflows with hatred toward Asian Americans.

21-year-old Robert Aaron Long, a suspect in the Atlanta serial shootings, posted on social networking services.

“China is involved in corona concealment. It has blocked the investigation team trying to enter the research center in Wuhan. It is China’s plan to dominate the world by killing 500,000 Americans. Let’s fight the biggest evil of this era, China.”

It is full of anger against China.

This shooting was aimed only at businesses operated by Chinese and Koreans.

Local Korean groups are still highly likely to be hate crimes targeting Asians.

According to the statistics compiled by a civic group, from March 19 last year to last month, the number of Asian hate crimes in the United States is increasing to the extent that nearly 3,800 cases were reported.

There is also a growing voice condemning hate crimes in Asia with this shooting.

Vice President Harris expressed condolences to the victims and stressed that violence should not be silenced.

Former President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also tweeted to urge an end to violence against Asian Americans.

In this situation, in many Asian regions, such as New York and Seattle, the possibility of recurring racist crimes is growing.

Accordingly, the police authorities are also strengthening protective measures, such as increasing patrol personnel in the Asian community.
