[국제]Space helicopter to Mars withstands 90 degrees below zero and prepares for test flight

The tiny helicopter’Injenewity’, separated from the Mars exploration rover’Personality’, survived the first night of the cold, which fell from the surface of Mars to minus 90 degrees Celsius.

NASA said on its homepage on the 5th local time that it has confirmed that Ingenuity has enough energy in its battery to endure the cold Martian night.

‘Ingenuity’ was attached to’Personality’ to receive power, and landed on the surface of’Example Crater’, which is believed to be an ancient delta of Hwaseong, on the 4th. There was a high risk of freezing or cracking and damaging the batteries required for flight.

According to NASA,’Inseriousty’ is an ultra-compact helicopter that weighs 1.8 kg and has a heating device that maintains the internal temperature of 7 degrees Celsius.

Its size and weight are light enough to fly through Mars’ atmosphere, but the challenge was whether the aircraft could withstand the cold.

With this success, NASA gathered information on whether the thermal control and power systems of’Ingeneity’ are working properly over the next two days, and on the 7th, unfastened the wings of the helicopter and inspected the wings, drive motors, and autonomous flying devices in turn I am going to do it.

After the first test flight to a height of 3m for 30 seconds on the 11th, the flight height and time are gradually increased, and all five flights are planned.
