The first weekend after the emergency was issued again in Japan, it was found that the street crowd did not decrease significantly compared to before.
As the nationwide spread of infection continued, the likelihood of an emergency spreading to other regions such as Osaka increased.

On the third day, there are nearly 8,000 infected people all over Japan.
You said the emergency area could be expanded?
[기자]
Yes. In Osaka, Japan, where the number of infections has recently increased, 253 confirmed cases on the 3rd.
But yesterday it more than doubled to 647.
In addition to Osaka, Hyogo prefectures and Kyoto cities in the vicinity are also suffering the most infections day after day into the new year.
Accordingly, the heads of the three local governments have made a formal request to the Japanese government to issue an emergency situation.
Not only these three locations, but also other areas, such as Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, are open to the possibility of emergency requests depending on the infection situation.
In response, Prime Minister Suga appeared on TV this morning and said that he must see more of the situation over the next few days.
They said that they would respond immediately if necessary, based on expert analysis.

It’s the first weekend after the emergence of the emergency, how is the atmosphere in the streets?
[기자]
Yes. The results of analyzing the crowds in areas where emergency situations such as Tokyo were issued were analyzed based on location data.
As of 9 o’clock last night, the crowd in downtown Tokyo, such as Shinjuku, Ginza, and Shibuya, decreased by 40-50% from the average of the same time period last month.
However, compared to the first weekend during the first emergency, Shinjuku and Ginza had nearly twice as many people, and Shibuya and other more crowded than at that time.
Compared to the first emergency that followed last spring’s closure and school closures, it was also confirmed by figures that there was less tension in Japanese society as a whole.
However, in Japan, nearly 8,000 new confirmed cases per day continued over the past three days, maintaining the highest level since the coronavirus outbreak.
The aftermath of the year-end and New Year holidays, when the crowds in the streets increased significantly, began to appear in earnest.
Some experts have predicted that this week’s increase in the number of infections will be at the peak.
When the emergency was issued on the 7th, Prime Minister Suga showed strong determination that he would do everything to improve the infection situation over the next month.
The Japanese government is planning to come up with support measures not only for restaurants, etc., but also for related businesses.
However, as an explosive increase is already occurring, the prospect that the emergency will not be lifted until the 7th of next month is gaining strength.
