The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan will hold a special section today to judge whether or not to approve special cases for Pfizer vaccines.
Special approval is a process that simplifies the screening process.
The “Comprehensive Organization for Medicines and Medical Devices,” a Japanese pharmaceutical review organization, has already compiled a review report acknowledging special approval, stating that there are no special problems with the safety and effectiveness of Pfizer vaccine.
Therefore, if today’s Health and Welfare Review determines that this report is valid, the Welfare Minister Tamura Noricha will officially approve the Pfizer vaccine on the 14th.
The Pfizer vaccine will be shipped by air from Brussels, Belgium, and will arrive at Narita International Airport in Japan on the 14th.
The Japanese government is coordinating to start vaccinating Pfizer vaccinations for 10,000 healthcare workers starting on the 17th.
