[국제]Korean stars condemn hate crimes… “I am proud to be Asian”

Korean stars are raising their voices in condemning hate crimes as a result of the serial shootings in Atlanta, USA, in which eight people, including six Asian women including Koreans, were killed.

Korean stars, including Sandra Oh and Daniel Dae Kim, who are active in Hollywood, USA, raised their voices through street speeches and testimonies at hearings.

Sandra Oga, who won the Golden Globe TV Drama Award for Best Actress, caught a loudspeaker on the street.

He gave a street speech at a rally held on the theme of’Stop Hatred toward Asians’.

Sandra also posted a post on Instagram to express her condolences to all victims of the Atlanta shootings and racist violence.

Korean actor Daniel Dae-Kim, who is active in Hollywood with Sandra Oh, attended a US Congressional hearing on the 18th as a witness.

Daniel v. Kim criticized the claim that the Atlanta attack was not a hate crime.

He also retweets Sandra Oh’s street speeches and is actively promoting awareness of hate crimes.

Stephen Yeon, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for the movie’Minari’, expressed solidarity on Twitter by sharing the remarks of President Joe Biden criticizing hate crimes and the address of a site helping Asian victims.

In a time article for an American current affairs magazine, Eric Nam, a Korean-American singer born and raised in Atlanta, urged, “Now to listen to our voices,” assuming that there is no racial motive for the Atlanta shootings is “racial in itself”.
