Iran’s Ban Gwan-yeong Pars news agency reported on the 4th local time that the Revolutionary Guards captured a Korean-born ship in the Gulf Sea and moved it to the port.

The Napo ship turned out to be’Korea Chemie’, the ship of the shipbuilding’DM Shipping’ in Busan.

Iranian Revolutionary Guards issued a statement claiming that “the capture was due to the vessel’s repeated violations of marine environmental regulations.”

The Revolutionary Guards announced that’Korean Chemie’ is being held at the Port of Bandar Abbas.

He said, “This arrest is at the request of the Prosecutors’ Office and the Port Authority of Hormuz State.”

It was found that 20 people, including 5 Korean sailors, were on board the seizure ship.

Foreign media such as the AP and Reuters also cited the Iranian media and reported the arrest of Korean chemists at once.

The Strait of Hormuju, the entrance to the Gulf waters where ships were captured, is a strategic point, with about a third of the world’s maritime crude oil transport.

The Iranian arrest took place amid particularly high military tensions between the United States and Iran.

Iran, the leader of the Islamic Shiite, threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz whenever military tensions with the United States escalated, and have captured several ships.
